Awramba Times (Phoenix, AZ) – The ancient Ethiopian Orthodox Church has no patriarch since the death of Abune Paulos, the fifth patriarch of the church for the last two decades as the sole figurehead leading 40 million Ethiopians (nearly half of the country’s population.)

After Abune Paulos’ death in the capital Addis Ababa on 16 August 2012, the newly elected Locum Tenens (Caretaker) of the church, Archbishop Abune Natnael has discussed with the exiled Ethiopian patriarch, Abune Merkorewos. In the aftermath of their discussion negotiations had been started between both synods. What are the promising results of the dialogue?
